BEHIND THE NAME

I can hear all of you as you are wondering where did this name originate.  Let me try to piece it together.

twaz·zle (twäz'lé) pron. only used as a single word interrogative in asking for immediate clarification [Twazzle?]; never used with other words within a sentence. SYN.-huh

The owner of Twazzle and Funomics began using the word-phrase approximately 24 years ago. He started using the term while in High School. One must realize that he attended the only High School in the world that teaches circus. "Twazzle?" was used as the single word interogative replacement for "What?" or "Huh?" It caught on very fast. He has always been an inquisitive kindof guy, and always seems to be trying to find out why things are as they are.

Fun·om·ic (fun'äm'ik) n. compound word.  devised from the words "fun" + "nomic"

"Nomic" is the name of a think game the owner of Twazzle and Funomics saw published in Big Blue Disk. Big Blue Disk was one of the first magazines to be published on magnetic medium (two 5¼"disks) for the PC. One of their issues included the game of "Nomic". It was enjoyed by logiticians, professors and philosophers who like mind games (of course they do!). The game was made up of approximately 30 plus rules. One received points for making an aggreed upon rule change. And the objective was to be the first to an aggeed upon point total.  Another method of play is to try to tie the game up within the rules as to not be able to continue the game. The owner of Twazzle and Funomics thinks it is an interesting concept to enter into game play where the objective wasn't to win, but to ensure that nobody else did either. The owner of Twazzle and Funomics DID NOT conceive this game!

Hence the name ... the inquisitiveness of "Twazzle", having "Fun", and the logic of (or lack of) in "Nomic".
